As for the vendors...I think at least the majority should be pride related, but I like that there was a judge there, and it would be a perfect spot for a voting registration. The more voters with realistic view points signing up to vote can always be a good thing.
Your airport? Could they put one outside the dome? The winds shouldn't be an issue then, right?
As for Pride, I think that having a variety of vendors and booths is absolutely wonderful ... after all, one of the points of a Pride celebration should be connecting the GLBTQ community with the town as a whole.
And I hate to say it, but we'd probably disagree on the airport. I can see the expansion as being the beginning of a slippery slope, and if a medical evacuation is a major emergency they should use a helicopter anyway, since it can land right at the hospital and save having to deal with ABQ traffic.
Actually, I am of mixed feelings on the airport. I mean, yes, it is a slippery slope, and there are certainly environmental issues involved as well. We actually do have a helicopter, but it cannot be used in many situations. The major problem us that we move people at least three to ten times per week.
I know here in Cbus, most of the booths are for subdivisions in the gay community (the choirs, the bands, the campers, the bars, etc. as well as gay PACs devoted to some issue that may or may not have anything to do with who you sleep with.) That said, we also get several clothing vendors and the odd psychic or two.

Unfortunately, outside the valley is basically only federally protected wilderness, BLM land, and national parks.
