CRASH!!!

Well I knew sooner or later it would happen and today it did. I'm kind of a novice at quading and so I was doing my "good samaritan" thing with my friend Bob. We were clearing the trails from all the overgrown trees today and all went great; gorgeous day, we were the only ones out and about and we cleared down to "Irish Creek" (a good gold mining

Yikes, careful there mom! I'm glad you're okay. I've only had the one bad crash (rolled off when I hit a stump and dislocated my shoulder). It's not fun to crash. You really should get a little bit of safety gear.

Thanks Son for the concern; I did buy a nice helmet (for Harley riding) however I wasn't wearing it when I was on the quad. I've thought about a chest plate. I'm glad I changed out of my shorts...lol more protection with long pants.

wolf is right, you should invest in a nice helmet (offroad, full face) and perhaps a set of riding leathers (jacket, padded elbows, reinforced shoulder area) if your going to ride quads more.

I am living proof a good helmet can save your life, 2 times now I have gone down, once in dirt doing a hill climb...into a tree hard enough to knock me out for half a hour (WITH the helmet on) and once on the street (not much left of the bike, or my riding gear but I lived)

I have a spare helmet for off road riding. Its a good one.
