The pope was a good guy; he did a bunch of inter-faith, humanitarian, and peacekeeping stuff. Sure, he launched a big anti-gay campaign but he believed that gays were gonna burn in hell so actually he was just trying to help gays, besides freedom of speech works both ways (double edged sword if u prefer imagery)
