I'm not sure who on my f-list is really going to care about this, but, um, posting it anyway with crossed fingers that someone is a like-minded fan?
So, here's the thing. At least once a year, I re-watch the TV show Sliders. It's just this thing I've been doing since the DVDs came out about six years ago because I'm obsessed or whatever. (And

I totally remember when they actually returned back to their home universe, but the mom got the squeaky gate fixed so Quinn thought they weren't home :(

I was recently discussing Sliders with someone, and neither of us could remember why we stopped watching it. Your summary certainly jostled those memories (was there also a gradual change in tone?) although I'm not sure I knew all of that to begin with!

Yeah, the show had a definite shift in tone along the way. Mostly in the latter half of the third season, but it started a bit before then. Apparently there was A LOT of bad behind the scenes stuff going on and it effected production. The show's creator, Tracy Torme, has been pretty open about how the show changed and why.

I've seen them done on picspammy, but that's the only place. This mostly came about because I was also talking to a friend about Sliders and we kept lamenting about what a great show it was and I was saying that they should just re-do it, new cast, but mostly the same premise, and hopefully without all that pesky network interference. And thus, this was born. :)
