Drabble Promts!

Okay guys, I've got like three hours before I have to go to sleep (normal adult people get about 6 hours a night, right?) and start another week from hell, so hit me with some prompts that I can drabble. I promise to actually stick to the "proper" definition of a drabble and write you pure awesome using just 100 words (um, full disclosure: what I ( Read more... )

Drabbles! I love drabbles!

Supernatural, gen, one or more drabbles based on one or more of the following prompts:

phrenology
Brigadoon
The Winchester Mystery House
undead chickens
Saturday morning cartoons
Blue Plate Special
a lighthouse
tree-shaped air fresheners
a hitchhiker
cow tipping
American Gods
ichthyosis

I fear that my Supernatural voices are OCC because it's been so long, but here have a drabble of the boys after watching Zombieland. (Um, works best if you ignore most of cannon.)

“Bullshit,” Dean says, tossing his half-empty popcorn bag into the trash.

Sam laughs. “What did you want a credit or something?”

“Hell yes, Sammy.”

“You’re unbelievable, dude.”

“Shoot first, the double tap, check the backseat?” Dean holds up three fingers. “Dean Winchester’s Patented Rules for Surviving a Zombie Apocalypse.”

“What zombie apocalypse have you ever been in?”

“Uh, Roanoke?”

“Dean, the word didn’t end. Ergo, no apocalypse. Zombie outbreak, maybe.”

“Whatever. Still think I should’ve been listed as a consultant or something.”

“Sure, Dean. Zombieland should have listed you as a consultant on their fictional movie.”

Dean frowns. “Just sayin’.”

Excellent!

Yes, my Supernatural writing skills are incredibly dusty too, but I couldn't remember what other fandoms we have in common. Fringe, maybe?

Heh. It might just be that I'm finally getting sleepy, but this turned out to be hard to write without the quantifiers of alt!Lincoln and alt!Olivia. Also 100 words was not nearly long enough for what I was going for. I propose I write something more proper than this in the future. Or maybe prompt you to write something more proper than this in the future. Hmm. ;)

He watches them.

He watches a Lincoln and an Olivia who live in a world different from his own with a sort of curious fascination that he knows probably borders on voyeurism.

There was an explosion and she’s hurt. Her cheek is split open and her bottom lip is fat with blood. Lincoln (her Lincoln) holds her face with careful hands and smiles at her as he tries to stop the bleeding. She circles one of his wrists with her fingers. They laugh.

He watches them and feels an unfamiliar pull in the pit of his stomach.

He wants that.

Ohhhh, I love it! HIM WATCHING THEIR ALTERNATES. UGH, the best. You should totally write more of these two - you are so good at it :)

Um. QUALIFIERS. Not quantifiers. Wow.
