Alright! six days in a row! It's pretty sad, but...that's a definite record for me!
Hm, so, current work update:
Eh. Meh. Blech. *admires* Yes, that says it well, I think. *g*
I don't want to jinx it, but I just may get the Class Review done by tomorrow! *fingers crossed* And if I'm lucky, there's the chance I can get something done on the DUE. I've got Medical Records pulling the first 20 charts for me, and Dee (one of the professors that uses the hospital as a hands-on teaching site) said she'd let me 'borrow' two of her students for a day or two. Yippee! Probies to do the grunt-work! Gotta love it. *g*
MySweetie and I have decided NCIS is our new favorite show to watch together. (Note that I said, "Our favorite show *to watch together*, not our favorite shows, that's something altogether different. *g*) CSI was, but lately, I don't know, it's just not speaking to either of us as it once did. Then about two months ago, we happened to catch an episode of NCIS (Eye Spy, if anyone cares) while we were on vacation and it tickled us both. Back home, I eventually decided to add it to the TIVO list (love the TIVO) and for the past month or two, USA has been marathoning the thing. We have, in the past 4-5 weeks or so, gorged ourselves on 90 of the first 94 episodes. I've got NCIS oozing out my pores! We're cleaning up a few scattered missing eps from Seasons 3 & 4 now, and it looks like USA is starting up Season 5. Season 6 is what? A bit over half-way done, (on ep 12 of 20-ish)? So, I figure by the time Season 6 is over, we'll have caught up all the previous 5 seasons, and by the time season 7 rolls in, we'll finally be up to speed! *G*
Of course, with our track record, CBS will cancel it after season 7. *sigh*
And of course, I can't forget,
What shall it be? *rummages through the favorites list* Hmm, how about
The Teaching Company? This site's a bit different from my other linkees. What it does is give you access to actual college courses, either in audio-only or in video format if you like, on pretty much any subject you're interested in. For me, it's a chance to take all those classes that sounded intriguing back in college that I just didn't have the time (or money) for. According to their blurb, "We provide the adventure of learning, without the homework or exams." Sounds good to me! *g*
I treated myself to an assortment of courses using my X-mas money and no complaints so far. I went cheap and did the download version of some of the courses on sale, I picked "Ethics of Aristotle", because I never got much philosophy in college (not much call for it in either the Microbiology or Pharmacy curricula) and the older I've gotten the more it fascinates me, and I got "Building Great Sentences: Exploring the Writer’s Craft", plus a couple others.
I'm working through "Building Great Sentences" first. So far, not earth-shattering, but not bad. A lot of his stuff I've heard in other places before, more or less, but it's interesting to hear his theories on why it all works. So, some repetion of material here for me, but a refresher never hurts. When I finish it, maybe I'll start on the Ethics course. I'm actually really excited by the idea! Learning can be fun! Who knew? *g*
