There is a certain time in every person's life when it is time to just sit down and reflect. Now this should happen, at the very least, weekly for each individual but I suppose now is a good enough time for me since this is when most of my friends are sifting through the rubble that has been shattered around in life and love ( Read more... )

It's very impressive to see a perspective like this from someone of your age, usually the furthest someone at your age can get is to find the desire to be everything to everyone. But you've reached the next step after that, and that is realizing that you can't be everything to everyone, but rather you want to be your best to everyone in any way you can. You recognize that you can't fix everything yourself, and that a relationship is about more than just what one person puts into it. It requires the effort of both members, and in some part, the efforts of the people outside the relationship. You are able to take responsibility for your role and your obligations to work for a relationship, but you also realize that no matter how hard you try, you can't make up for someone else not doing their part. I'm honored to have had the opportunity to be with you and get to know you over the past (almost) year, you have made so much growth, and I have grown with you and because of you. Brinee, I miss you so much. I'm sorry that I never get to see you anymore and didn't make it your graduation! I promise once I get my car back we'll do something! I love you and I hope you go mini-golfing with us on Saturday (um, Amy is supposed to call you bout that, so shhhh, I didn't say anything).
You've made such an impact on my life. You were my first real connection with someone in youth group (bonding over characters played), you let me use your computer when i was freaking out over loan stuff, you let me talk endlessly about boys and life and work and all manner of things. I was so proud when you went on Quest, and I've seen you mature so much in a billion other ways. Congrats on graduating! Did I mention, I LOVE YOU BRINEE!

I can't write anything profound like you and Chris, because let's face it, I stopped being smart a long time ago. But I figure it's better to just be straight about it anyway:

I hope you don't feel our friendship has ended. I hope that when you're up in Orono spending time with both of our boyfriends you can still make time to write or IM me. (Not to place pressure on you being my everyone, because Jon's like... half of my everyone.)

I' not much for words lately.....

But i wanted to tell you that you really are an amazing person and have helped me find who i really am. It's not every day that you find a brinee leigh and even if i act a little distant i never want to let go of the relationship that we have made through experiance, and through trust.

Someties we look at ourselves to hard, and i have been for the last while. But when i look at who you are, and what you mean to me...can't be described in words really. You are amazing and soon i think you will know just how amazing you are.

college will test you on countless levels. but always remember that the friends you meet and the ones that you know now will be shelters from the storm. I trust you brinee and i love you too. If you need me you know that i am only a phone call away!

We have a pretty strange relationship, especially considering the fact that I'm your ex and you're dating my best friend. Yeah. But beyond that...hehehe. You have had a great impact on me for the past couple years. Even if we aren't as close as we once were I still consider you to be one of my closest friends.

I really appreciate all you do for everyone around you. And I'm sure I'll be talking to you next year...you're only two hours away or so!
