I don't think I've mentioned that I'm in India for the break, but here I am.  We have a week (plus 2 weekends) so it's not long, but a while.  I got into Delhi Friday and left for Shimla Saturday on an overnight train.  It would have been all in the dark, which would have been highly unfortunate, but the train was delayed 5 hrs, so a good chunk of ( Read more... )

You lucky duck!

I visited India once for 10 days back in 2006. On the morning I was supposed to go down the Ganges, I came down with some horrible illness. . .only it *was* accompanied by all the bodily fluids. . .

post pics if you can. . .have fun!

Don't have many pics. I tend to not be much of a picture taker.

Shimla, nice! Another place I haven't been to but would love to visit. The hill-station railway journeys are indeed amazing in India. The best one in the north is probably the one to Darjeeling and the best one in the south is the one to Ooty.

Hope you had a good trip!

Yeah, the ride up there, and the town of Shimla, were absolutely gorgeous... especially after Kabul for a while.
