I remember I got some weird bug when I visited India (Benares is the germ capital of the world!) I took antibiotics for a few days, but the chemical taste was so strong and caused nausea by itself, so I stopped taking it. I got better a few days later, with no lingering symptoms as far as I can tell.
Hopefully the same will happen to you. . .again, good luck with beating this thing!
Thanks. And yeah, I've had antibiotics that do that to varying degrees. It's really unpleasant! Glad yours went away on its own. A lot of illnesses are like that, and get better regardless of meds. This is why I strongly try to avoid taking meds. But sometime you inevitably have to.
I'm improving, but still have a good ways to go. It's less painful to walk today than it was yesterday, though, so this is good.
Also, I don't know if you keep up with my journal, but I'm living in Pakistan right now! I'm in Islamabad, so we're not so far away from each other. .. according to google maps 470 km from each other! If you ever want to visit (or can. . I don't know how the visa process would work with that kind of travel) just let me know, maybe we could arrange something. This city is very laid back and beautiful.
Also, my husband is Pakistani and he works in government/UN circles. . .he said that American embassies in war torn countries like Afghanistan are extremely helpful to to American citizens, so if you're in trouble, don't hesitate to contact them. Also, are you registered with the American embassy? If not, do so right away. It's important that they know you're there.
I do read your LJ as part of my friends page, so regularly. I just don't always comment. I would enjoy seeing Pakistan, but unfortunately there are lots of other places I'd like to go, too, so who knows if I'll make it. Thanks for the invite, though. It'd be cool. I'd return the invite, but tourist visas here are pretty hard, I think, and if they aren't hard, doing anything here definitely is.
