Tickets to the US cost, typically, around $1800 RT.  The way you book it for that "cheap" is you book one ticket on one airline for Kabul-Delhi or Kabul-Dubai (Delhi is cheaper in the winter, Dubai is cheaper in summer.)  Then you book a second, separate ticket from Delhi-Portland (or wherever.)  If you don't do that, and just book straight Kabul- ( Read more... )

Thanks. I'm now trying to find people who are part of the role playing org I'm a member of who are in the area and free/can give me a spare couch/floor/bed/anything. The short time to arrange details isn't helping, though.

Thanks... me too. Weather is supposed to clear up, and I have a 15 hr layover in Delhi in case my flight is delayed, so I'm optimistic.
