Series recommendations?

My stockpile of TV shows to watch is dwindling.  Does anyone have any recommendations?  Older (last 20 yrs) is welcome as well, since I can download/watch the whole thing that way

I've watched the old series a bit and couldn't ever get into it. With all the hype, I should probably watch the new one just to know...

Sherlock is one we're talking about doing on our weekend social series watching (the other possibility is the Borgias, and of course we'll do Game of Thrones when it comes out.... That being what started this whole tradition 3 yrs ago.)

Ah right. I'd heard Spartacus was good. Had forgotten about it.

I do have non-spec/history stuff I've enjoyed, but it's a much more eclectic list, and I tend to dislike the vast majority of it out there... hence not really soliciting suggestions for that so much.

I probably should have specified that it's a caper show, which not everyone likes but I find very entertaining. You could try watching the pilot and then decide whether it's for you.
