It's hard to believe the trip is over. I haven't posted a lot because there really hasn't been a lot to say... It'd mostly just be a list of monasteries I visited that day. Outside the city, that's what you see. Monasteries. They were nice, though. I'll see if I can put some pics on Facebook

Opera in Armenian, nice! Glad you enjoyed the trip. Hope I get to visit the country as well one day. I was curious, are there any significant memorials in Yerevan dedicated to the Turkish genocide?

A while back, I decided not to go to genocide type memorials unless really expected to (like if I was traveling with someone who wanted to go and really didn't want to go alone.) I'm not against them or anything, and recognize they may be good for many people. But neither the world, nor I, am any better for me having visited it, and I'd rather focus on the good than the bad... So I stopped going. So I can't tell you much more than that there's a museum. The genocide is definitely strongly remembered, though.

That's an interesting decision, not necessarily a bad one. I suppose if one is aware of the history, that's a lot better than wilful ignorance.

And no, definitely not supporting willful ignorance. But I know the genocide happened. I don't know all the minor details, but it wouldn't matter if I did.
A museum dedicated to the people who helped fight against it is much more along my line of interest/focus. The Ann Frank house would be an example of this one, I suppose, depending on where the focus is put. (I've never been there, so don't know.)

I think that would make for a very happy solution.
