Buffy is a pain in my ass...

So today the new Buffy comic came out. It's the official Season 8 of the series, but this time Joss Whedon (the creator) is doing it in comic book form instead of tv. OK, I'm a comic nerd so I'm good with that idea ( Read more... )

The guy at "Whatever," the comic book store on Castro Street ,told me yesterday when I put my name down for a copy that he was going to get a second shipment in on Friday. He confirmed that Buffy #1 was "huge."

I can check here if you like. I have a couple of sources that may have one for you.

I must say ... it will be extremely difficult to find a box big enough to stuff myself into ... in order to deliver it to you personally *GRIN*

Let me know.

It's worth the hassle of finding it... michael_arnold March 15 2007, 04:31:57 UTC
Mike - I won't spoil it for you, but it IS a fun read, with a couple of interesting twists. Definitely some stuff that they would have had trouble doing on TV. It's a slow build though, so you don't get all that much in the first issue. Typical Whedon when writing comics (Astonishing X-Men takes forever to get anywhere, but it is an interesting journey with lots of inside jokes along the way). I'm looking forward to hearing your opinion on this once you get your hands on it.

Sounds great...I have a couple copies on the way and I'm really looking forward to reading it! I'm trying to avoid any articles about it until I have the chance to read it for myself, so I truly appreciate your spoiler-free review!

I'm interested in seeing if it picks up where Season 7 left off, or if it's set 5 years later, ie "now".

I had an idea that I think is kinda cool: when the inevitable trade-paperback collection comes out, it would be neat if they made it digest-sized so it can be set on the shelf beside the Seasons 1-7 DVDs.
