The power of a beat...or is it the lyrics...or both?

The power that a song has over me is amazing. This always happens to me...I'm driving down the road with my music turned up really loud, and I hear a song and all of a sudden...I find myself in another place with all of the emotions and thoughts of that remembered past moment, flooding over me. Mmmm, I feel this way about art. I feel that art is so much more than what most people think of it. I believe it comes from emotions of all kinds. I believe taht it can affect people the same way as you say music can. I also think the same about music.

Most of the time, music to us can say what we are feeling that we could not have expressed on our own, I believe. It has always done so for me. Some music has saved me from hurting myself because it expressed the anger, confusion, and depression that I was holding inside. It was a release for me, just to hear the words that I wasn't able to say out loud. I have the same questions as you. I hope some day they can be answered, whether it be me or you who's asking them or someone else.

I think sometimes that music can express what it is not possible to say. Beautiful lyrics, like poetry, can create a strong feeling. When combined with the music they create a more powerful effect. The emphesis and iteration of certain words and lines take on a more powerful meaning, which have the ability to pierce through thoughts and impact hard upon the soul ( ... )
