Recently, a friend of mine conducted a brief flirtation with a twentytwoyearold. This was good for her for all of the obvious reasons, and good for me, as an opportunity to learn, secondhand, a phrase or two that has entered the lexicon while I've been at home, on the yogamat, otherwise focused

I don't think all polyamorists revel in NRE. Some see it almost as a thing to get past to see what a relationship will be like in the more lasting sense, or as something to manage for our own ease of transition later, or the transition for partners we already have. Still, a different phrase would perhaps be in order.
