The only ones I know of, anywhere, are at the Greenslopes Primary School in Dunellan St, Greenslopes, which isn't really westside. You might be better off taking your things to a charity shop in person. Almost all of the stuff dumped in the bins gets torn up, bagged & sold as cheap rag. , Try the Red Cross shop on Sherwood Rd, opposite Woolworths; the Disabled Riding Association on Station Rd, Indooroopilly, about 200m uphill from the train station; or the one I can't remember the charity for, on Honour Ave, Graceville, opposite the northern end of the train station. I've found them all to be quite helpful. Best of luck.
There's a St Vincent de Paul shop next to the Corinda Library on Oxley Rd, across the road from a Coles. I think it's open from 10:00 or 10:30 until 4. They sell paperbacks for 50c unless it's a particularly famous/desirable book, I recommend having a rifle through while you're there. :)
