Hi all, can anyone recommend a good piercing place in Bris City? Preferably nearby queen St? I want to get a dermal removed and possibly a tongue piercing..
Thanks :-)

The Piercing Shop isn't awful.

Of Ya Tree also currently has quite a good piercer, but they tend to swap around so be wary and make sure you see their portfolio.

I've had 3 piercings from Off Ya Tree, and only one of them healed properly.

That isn't a definite testament to the piercer's skill. Do you know who you were pierced by? They HAVE had artists who weren't very good work there and I do not trust the Off Ya Tree chain as a whole whatsoever, but their current piercer DOES come from an extensive background and is very good at what she does.

I didn't catch the name of the girl that did the last two piercings, but my nose piercing from done by Lili(?) She was really lovely!

I went back in a couple of weeks ago for them to take a look at my tragus. They said it was pierced at a horrible angle, which is why it hadn't healed after 8 months. They couldn't believe l had been pierced by them.

I'm still doing everything l'm meant to for it to heal, not l'm not sure if it will.

NOT Piercing Planet in the Mall. I had a tragus piercing done there 3 or 4 months ago. The piercing itself was adequate, though the piercer was not particularly good - she punctured my tragus too slowly in my view. However, the aftercare advice was not good. Current best practice is medical grade saline with a good dose of 'leave it the hell alone'; she was trying very hard to flog a shop brand of aftercare spray to me (tried harder when I refused), then gave me ridiculous advice about using saline (once ever second day for six months. Seriously. That's what she wrote down).

I haven't had any issues with the piercing itself - as I said, it was done adequately if not particularly skilfully, and I'm experienced in aftercare. But I would not recommend them to anyone else.

Damn. LJ ate my next comment.

Anyway, comment redux: I had another tragus piercing done in September last year at Valley Ink in the Brunswick St Mall. The piercer there was good. She let me know she was trained relatively recently, but despite that she pierced accurately and quickly. Her aftercare advice was also spot on.

I rather wish I'd gone back to her for my second tragus, instead of deciding on a whim to get one done while I was waiting around in the City. :)

This. I had a cartilage piercing that I wanted jewelry changed, the piercer mashed my ear to pieces and took about half an hour to remove a tight flatback (with pliers before trying gloves??) and then tried to put in a ball capture ring just using her fingers. She broke the jewelry in the process and tried to charge me for it. Not worth it at /all/.

Oh, and stay the hell away from Essential Beauty.Stupidly got a nipple piercing from them when l was 16.

I'm still furious at myself for getting it done there, and at them for assuring me that it was legal at 16 to get a nipple piercing. Yeah, it's really not.

It actually grew out and l'm left with horrific scarring.

Oh. And don't go to Essential Beauty. Don't go to Piercing Planet. Don't go to City Body Art.
