Secretly, he hates the performances. Not the performing, itself- that still creates a buzz deep in the pit of BB’s stomach. It’s the after parts he hates; when the parents rush the stage or give standing ovations where no West End audience would.
He feels it worse at curtain call when he stands, the loneliest guy on the stage, just looking out, scanning the crowd for the smiling faces he knows he’s never going to see again.
But at least in his head they’re applauding and it’s nice to know that they’re there; his big fan club in the sky.
