“Lola, left turn,” said Stefan, his voice kind of teacher-harsh, but his eyes soft. “Left.” Lola bit her lip and realised she’d been caught out.
“I, like, can’t,” she said staring at her feet.
“What do you mean you can’t?”
Lola showed him, toppling to the floor for her efforts. Burying her face in her hands she so hoped no one else had seen the best dancer in the class fall flat on her bum. But when she looked up, Stefan had his hand out to her, smiling.
“You won’t tell anyone will you?” she asked, mortified.
“It’s our secret.”
