well it's not really so much bad - i just didn't want to get one. i want to stay here and start gradschool, but turning down a fulbright isn't something i can easily justify in my mind even if i don't really want it. i guess it's kinda of complicated. bottom line is i really dont want to go to germany for a whole year, but i can't really think of a reason not to except that i dont want to and that's not really good enough.

how are you btw?? what have you been up to?

yeah - my big thing is that life is so happy right now and things are going so well with my life in boston that i really dont want to leave that. i'm not used to being this content with life. i got into the grad school i wanted to up here, things are great with my friends, things are great with the more than friend...a year is a long time to give up all that for.

i would love to have some of the drama dish ;) you should post about it. everyone loves a good drama haha! hows the end of the semester winding down for you? i hope not as busy as mine!!!

Ok, I don't do this very often, but I'm going to pull age here:

Don't be stupid.

The number one reason I see younger people turn down major, life-changing opportunities is "but I'm so comfortable with all my friends!".

Get over it. You'll make new friends, you'll find a new more-than-friend, but you will never get another Fulbright.

If I can miss the majority of the next 2 years of my son's life, you can leave your friends for a year. Anyone worth their salt will be there when you get back. And who's to say things would stay this awesome if you stayed in Boston? Nothing gold can stay.

Anyway, if it weren't hard, it wouldn't be impressive.

Much love.

Oh, and I know you already know that.

I just wanted to reinforce because I know all of your 22 year old friends are going to be like "don't do anything you don't want to do".
