Actually, the poll is just one of those 'who's paying attention' things. But I just read about an exchange of telegrams between an author (inquiring of his book's reception while he was overseas) and his agent, who was very, very pleased with how it was going. The entire exchange was just those two punctuation marks.

Telegrams were very expensive; saving characters was imperative. Sort of like steampunk-style tweeting.

I feel that the poor interrobang never gets the love it deserves. :)
