Aw Adele *hugs* I know how you feel (obviously) and it's ok to let your guard down, it's ok to be upset.

One sad thing I've learned is that our grief long outlives people's support, but it also helps you to find out who your true friends are.

Life will get better! THINK BIG and just go for it! Easier said than done, but don't settle for anything less than what you're worth :)

Thank you Steph :) I feel like last year I really did find out who my friends were and was overwhelmed by the support of many people and underwhelmed by how many people said nothing to me. I mean, I know some people just don't know what to say but I feel like there's people in my life who have just never mentioned it. They'll remain nameless because it might all be in my head. Still, when the going gets tough you really learn who cares about you.

Doing this worship band thing at church is making me feel good about myself. It's something I can do and something I am passionate about that. I know there is something to be said for liking your job and while I'd never go back to cleaning, if I have this church thing then I would almost be happy to just have a job in a shop. Maybe.

There's no easy way around dealing with the loss of someone so close to you. I know the "I don't want to forget" feeling well. When someone in my family passed away, I kept thinking of interesting, funny, or wise things he used to say. I started writing them down. I kept a list in a journal and left a few pages blank afterwards so that I could always come back and write down anything that popped into my head. I still come back to it on occasion, and it's been more than 4 years. I don't know if something like this would work for you, but for me, it helped alleviate the "I don't want to forget" feeling. I wish you the best in dealing with this...one day at a time, right?
