What would I do without you, YouTube?

I just love YouTube.  Sure, there's alot of waste-of-time-junk out there like cheesy superhero porn (don't ask - really, puh-leeez don't ask!) and disturbing footage of people being eaten by animals (don't make the same mistake I made thinking it's not real - it's for real!), but there's also an infinity of great, entertaining, creative stuff to be ( Read more... )

music, fanvids, damian lewis, youtube, band of brothers

The Winters/Nixon one elicited many girly giggles from me. Their adoring looks to each other were out of control. But you know that I would have done a Winters/Sobel vid instead. ;) I am shocked as to why I'm the only one who ships them. Well... not really, but still. There's got to be at least one other person who sees the potential there.

I love those Life vids too. I've watched them (particularly the Near to You one) about a gazillion times. LOVE!!! I made a Life vid awhile back, too, but I knew no one would like it because I chose a country song. I'm actually surprised at how many people put it on their favorites list. But yeah, I'm a dork who doesn't care too much for mainstream music (or alternative, or... basically anything that isn't country), so I'm very musically challenged. Watching fanvids is usually the only way that I branch out.

True that. And the picspam of that was absolutely giggle-inducing. *wipes tears* I still go back and check that one out every once in awhile.

OMG did you? Was it under firthgal? I don't remember seeing that one. I'm going to have to check that out...

It's actually under gbrd1. But trust me when I say that it's pitiful when compared to these beautifully put together fanvids. All I have is Windows Movie Maker, so I can't really be fancy. I rely on matching the scenes to the lyrics, and that's pretty much it. Anywho, here's the link:

Learning How to Bend

I hope you like it! But again, it's country music, which is a little weird for Life. But the lyrics fit them SO WELL that I just couldn't resist.

OMG! I have that one in my YouTube Fav Playlist! For real! That was yours? I didn't even know it was country music. I just thought it was a really cute, whimsical song. Who sings it anyway? It actually does make a perfect soundtrack for Dani and Charlie and the ensuing cuteness between them as they get to know and begin to like each other. I can see why you used it. Belated great job!

question: how well does one have to know the degrees separating yourself from another? like, I met the casting director of KEANE - does that count as a degree toward Damian Lewis? i met Jeffrey Pierce, who shared scenes with Damian Lewis, does that count? i don't really KNOW these people very well, i never worked with them, only met them once. what are the degrees of degrees? i don't think i have any degrees to President Clinton or Kobe Bryant (not that i'd want any to kobe bryant).

not well at all. i think the degree counts as long as you have had some kind of interaction with each other. and yes, keane's director and Jeffrey Pierce WOULD count. OMG you have only one degree of separation (lucky you!), which would make mine two degrees of separation.

pretty cool.
