I Need to Say Something, and I Need to Say it Here to Minimize Rioting

This is about Geek.Kon and some issues I'm having with a staffer and the way we need to do things right now.  If you care about that, please read behind the cut.  If you don't, please disregard this.  I just needed to post it here because I needed to write it SOMEWHERE, and according to Chairman Bob I'm "evil" (his sarcastic way of complimenting me ( Read more... )

To make a long story short...

Agreed.

Thanks.

As soon as we have a new con chair, I will likely organize all the points I would like to make in response and send them in an e-mail.

New con chair can then decide what he wants to do about them.

I wish we had someone else to run for PR head. I told Bob I was going to do it, but Brian said that he's not going to let me in order to keep my stress levels down. Plus no one would vote for me. Plus I think that's a job best done from Madison.

I keep hoping that someday he will go away.....

I'm assuming this is the same douchebag that ran registration? if it is OMG GET HIM OUT OF THERE NOW. The fact that my friends 'saved' me by sitting with me during my 2 hour stint behind the reg table/bar/thing and that I was warned about the reg dude by a fellow staffer says something. I always tried to preempt him when people came up to register and greeted them, told them where things were and to let us know if they had questions. Didn't help he glared at me while I was eating my cake while he assembled the badge holders. Had he asked me to help/do it, I'd have gladly helped. But I wasn't asked so I was therefore not required to do it, as he was doing it and the other nice lady who was also behind the reg table. Also, he was extremely rude to my friends and I earlier in the day. Not a way to win over congoers ( ... )

Sadly. Not the same one. But we're ever so aware of our registration customer service problems as well. That guy has GREAT ideas and really knows what he's doing, but we all know that he shouldn't be allowed to interact with the public a lot of times.

Sorry you had to deal with it....

It's ok. It wasn't deal breaking but it wasn't the greatest either. I've had to deal with some asses where I work so I managed.

And that's kinda crappy that there are two not so awesome persons on staff. Hopefully things get sorted out and worked out since I want to see geek.kon continue growing and doing well...not fall apart from the inside.

We're doing our best not to fall apart from the inside!

Thanks, though! For loving our con!
