Rush Party

Stupid rush party is tonight. Well, I wouldn't necessarily say party because it isn't one. All the little pledges come by, we act all sweet and normal and then they leave (hopefully). I am hoping those brats have eaten the suckers by now...

I put on a pair of black pants and a flowery shirt and quickly head downstairs. I pass a few sisters on the way and remind them that the pledges will be by in a few minutes. I am downstairs trying to straighten up a little when I notice Liz and Peyton coming down the stairs. I say "Hi" and we all finish getting the living room ready for the rush party.

I stand in the Tri-Delt living room, waiting for the party to get going. Some of the new pledges seem nice, the sorority sisters running things seem frighteningly efficient, but I guess they've done this sort of thing before. I'm not sure what all is supposed to go on tonight, whether it's more just chatting people up and getting to know them, or what.

Cecile somehow managed to get me to agree to come to this rush thing with Jan. Actually...I'm not even sure I agreed.
There are lots of people. I have no idea what to say. or do.
Why did I let her talk me into this? I grab a sucker out of the candy bowls. at least that will give me something to do with my hands.

I catch sight of Amanda and move toward her. "Hey, started wondering if you'd show! This is fun, isn't it?" I say, looking around at the milling sisters and pledges. It all looks so...well, welcoming to me.

Jan! I feel a little better now. "I said I'd come, didn't I?" I twirl the sucker around in my mouth, it's sweet. "It's...nice. Theres a lot of people. ...I hope they like us."

I eagerly shake all of their hands in turn. "It's really nice to meet you all. You all seem like such an awesome group!"

I smile at her again. My cheeks hurt. But, it's for a good cause.

I play with the red necklace around my neck. "Thank you!" I say.

Time to get to the point. "So, are you guys pledging the Tri-Delts?"

"Oh yes." I smile at Britney. "Everything I've seen about the Tri-delts is wonderful. I'm looking forward to proving myself in the scavenger hunt. It should be lots of fun!"

I smile. Two down.

"Well, we should go talk to the other pledges. The scavenger hunt is in devopment, and I will definately let you guys know when." I smile again. "Feel free to mingle with the other girls. There are drinks in the kitchen," I pause, and point through a door to my left. "Through that door." I smile. "Enjoy yourselves!"

Peyton, Liz and Grae all smile and give little waves before dissappearing into a sea of girls.
