If you had $75 to spend on Amazon, thanks to Christmas/birthday gifts from family members, what would you buy? (Consider you'd also be more than willing to spend $25 more, if necessary.) It could be one item or a myriad of items.

My curious mind wants to know.

I'd get a range of things. I have an extensive wish list on Amazon, so picking stuff would not be a problem. I'd start from the OLDEST, decide if I still wanted it, and fire away.

I'd probably try to get at least one book, one CD, and one DVD...

Any music or DVD recommendations?

DVD: Serenity. Because I still haven't gotten it. I have the Firefly TV series, but haven't gotten the movie.

CD: Telarc's Round Up. But that's because we went to Walt Disney World last summer and stayed in the Wilderness Lodge. They had music playing all the time. I asked the concierge for a list and he gave me one. It's unofficial, as the staff just adds to it when they recognize stuff. Anyway, much of it, I believe, was from Round-Up and the followup CD, Happy Trails.

I have a pretty diverse collection of music... If you'd asked me this at this time last month, my answer would have involved Christmas Music. Who knows what you'd get if you ask next month.

Erm...we've got a really fantastic Krups coffee maker that also grinds. If I recall, we bought it at Amazon.

Otherwise, you could buy socks - you've got enough books already.

Snort. :D

We were able to secure a Krups grinder from Linens N' Shit at a discount a few months ago and have three coffee makers. While my first reaction to your comment is "Hell yeah!" I know it's not the most logical one right now. :) I also want a ridiculous espresso maker, but the little capsules are way too expensive to buy a lot... I think we'll have to wait, barring disaster, 'til marriage for another coffee maker . . .

Seriously, I was considering buying fuzzy socks. And toe socks. And argyle socks. I love socks.

But when you do get a new coffee maker, I recommend the Keurig k-cup home brewer. I'm looking avidly at one of those myself. Though I think if you get them at the website, you get free stuff with it.

Everything I'm looking at longingly right now is computer or household stuff, so I'm afraid for you I'd have to go with CDs or DVDs. (Or socks. Good lord. You're just like Gypsy. You crazy people and your weird sock fetish.)

:D

My brain is a bit fixated on bedding and storage bins right now, which is one of the reasons I posted this entry. My domesticity is currently hurting my brain.

I would especially love it if someone recommended a book or film that would blow me away!

I finally got Gypsy to sit still long enough to watch Hot Fuzz, which is definitely one of my favorite films. Also Once, which I haven't gotten her to watch yet but is also fabulous in an entirely different way... I'd suggest tv series, but I don't know if you watch anything you love.

Books are difficult, too, because I have no idea what you're into. A book I read recently by China Mieville, "Un Lun Dun" was really good - it's his first YA book so it's more charming and less, you know, dark and depressing than his adult stuff. If you tell me what sort of things you like to read, I might be able to suggest something else... :)

Hot Fuzz was a fun film! Overall.

I would buy the Twilight series because the film sparked my curiosity about the books. Then I would probably try and bribe someone to exchange the rest with me for cash so I can go by shoes! ;)

Your local library will probably have copies, although demand for them right now might be a bit high....
