there is a stunning pdx-wannabe scene in san francisco. it's weird to see something that you've always known become hip even though nothing changed.

crazy! so what do people down there consider portland-y? what are they doing? is it dress or attitude or something else?

i think it's the portland attitude.. like when the big city becomes too much, you escape to quaint portland orygon, where it's quiet and cheap, but still urban-friendly. and people in portland do adorable things like have free bicycles and lots of parks and all that jazz.

but its almost like portland is a brand... the hot new coffee shop serves only "stumptown roasters" beans, which is where I ran into mr. "portland is the new brooklyn".
