Oh c,mon! Belgrade is quite and simply an amazing city. Very safe if you just keep your eyes open. But it is true, the Slavic people have been through some serious shit.

Auntie Anne sent me some very nice early Christmas money, so that was an amazing surprise upon arriving, I-ve been gorging myself on the food.
There-s a place in Croatia someday I-d like to show you, I-ve only seen it from afar, but I know it-s very special.

There was a scare for all of today and yesterday though that I wouldn-t be able to leave the country, my passport looks like a wet cat, drowned. My trips to the Canadian embassy (Belgrade is a place with a neccessity for these, many) left me anxious and plotting routes up and around, completely avoiding Croatia...but money would make that very painful and I think I would have to do a lot of hitchiking and train hopping. But today we solved it (I hope) by merely flattening the paper as if by an iron. I also have her phone number.

But my neccessary goal has been accomplished! and I-ve grabbed a stamp which extends my stay, and soon I-ll be wisking back to Venice.
