FYI I'm at Edinburgh Festival. Will report back on Thursday night.

Intriguing! I do have Internet here, so what is it?

Just I was wanting to do some proper academic film reading, but I don't want it to be dull and idiotic. Preferably relating to queer theory, but pretty much anything. Do you have any recommendations? (I know one other person who studied Film at Uni, but I definitely trust your judgement more)

Okay! I'll definitely have to think about this when I get back, but for now I can definitely recommend The Celluloid Closet by Vito Russo which is the definitive book on the history of gay cinema. Sadly, Russo died quite a while ago so it only goes up to the 80s, but it's excellent.

For more generic, I can recommend any of the works of my former lecturer Dr Stacey Abbott for cult film and TV, so that can get you started.
