well duh.

it's obviously so sad because they don't become friends again, and because the old woman makes Todd leave. That always made me the most sad.

but if you want to know WHY they made it so sad, who knows.

lol. yeah... the very end where they quote the beginning makes me the most sad, but don;t worry, I almost cried at the old woman as well. Both very sad parts of life. (Yes, they are sad enough moments to qualify in the top most sad moment of myy life, not just in the movie. :P)
