FWB is something that should be treaded on very carefully. and your friend is just going through a phase. and He really doesn't want to hurt your feelings, or want you to think he's using you. But he does apologize, for all of it, and says that you're probably right and it's probably over. He feels bad that he brought you along for the emotional roller coaster ride, but asks your forgiveness, and extends the hand of friendship.
