A new one just begun...

It's school again. I don't really know how I feel about it.

It was very nice to see all of my family again, even if Gavin does still insist on stealing my wand at any given opportunity. It's more than a little bit irritating to have it turn up on my pillow with Merlin-knows-what kind of sticky, gooey substance on it. My mother wouldn't let me touch ( Read more... )

(("How to Save a Life" is playing. XD))

I want to Megan, but I don't know how!!
So you feel like this all the time? No wonder you're so crazy.

It's a good crazy, though.

It's not angst, it's productive stress, and if you're going to manhandle it through such misnomers, I'm just going to have to confiscate it.

You can keep the crazy. I think I might need to borrow it for the post-NEWTs parties that I imagine will erupt, though.

Can you believe we're almost done with the school year? I can't! NEWTs already?! Gods! Where'd the time go?

I'm trying not to think about it, because even when I think about it I still can't make myself do anything.

At least it's been a fun year so far, right?

I know exactly what you mean and yeah, it has been a fun year. But do the teachers have to pile on more homework just as we get back?

I suppose it's to get us all motivated again so we can achieve at our normal levels for the rest of the year.

I think I'm still achieving, at any rate.

You're one of the few, Mandy. NEWTs have got everyone in a panic. It's starting to become contagious.

Well, I wish someone would just cough it on me so I would start doing something. This is not a healthy state of mind for a Ravenclaw.

Horrors! A Ravenclaw that won't study? I've an idea. We'll switch Houses. You can charge recklessly into danger (which, these days, would amount to charging recklessly into Filch) and I'll study. Won't help you much for NEWTs, though.

Who would want to charge recklessly into Filch? Besides the fact that he is both creepy and crass, I have noticed that he smells a bit like moldy cheese. Gross.

So I think I'll stick with being a Ravenclaw for now, thanks. I'm sure the knack'll come back to me. It always does.

C'mon, Mandy! Get with the spirit of the NEWTs!! All of the Ravenclaw seventh years should go out studying one day.

Well, I've got no spirit right now, but hopefully I'll still get lots of NEWTs. I mean, the study habit should just kick in again soon, right?

That would be a fantastic outing.

You will get lots of NEWTs. You're a genius, dear! It's just because we just came back. Don't worry, I felt the same way.

Wouldn't it just? I mean, if all the guys came, we probably wouldn't get anything done. But at least it'd be fun!

Thanks, Padma. I just wish it wouldn't take me so long to get back into my good habits; I feel all out of whack.

Hahaha, I can just picture everyone getting gradually distracted! It would definitely be a studying fiasco.

We should do it anyway.

Your brother got a sticky, gooey substance on your pillow? Are you sure he was stealing your wand...because he might have just been using his own.

Haha, I think I just ruined any chance of you using that pillow again.

I don't think I ever imagined that you could be so utterly depraved. He's barely five. Please don't make me lose faith in humanity.

And it will have been thoroughly cleaned before I get back to it anyway. But you're probably right.

Oh, I didn't realize he was so young. Although if it was true, your little brother would be the coolest little kid to ever exist. Sweet dreams, Mandy.
