i realize i have a serious problem. i realize it every time a new cd, book, comic or movie comes out. i know the average guy has an internal debate while shopping. "do i buy this new pair of pants, or should the cat eat this week?" do i want my arm pits to smell like cool sport or arctic frost? but i think my problem goes a little deeper. i ( Read more... )

Ah, how well I understand you, brocktree. I too am a compulsive buyer. If I want it and it's available, then why shouldn't I have it? We work hard, long hours. We deserve some amount of fun, don't we?

Shopping = fun!
Crystal = enabler!

Oh and hey, that's something you can give me. I wants a copy of WS, please. I am already getting Coldplay from another source. ;-)

i've never had enough enablers in my life...think that's why my first two decades were some kind of boring. as soon as i can get ah-mee to relenquish the laptop, i'll get you a copy of the stripes. i've also got elephant (next to last)if you want that one. expect it sometime this weekend--brocktree

Y'know, I don't think I have my copy of Elephant anymore, so yes. That would be awesome. Thankee kindly.

I say strike a compromise. You buy new music when it comes out. That way you can stay on top of that fix. Then let Amy take care of the DVD fix, and I will even suggest a website that will help both of you stay on top of future releases...

And anglophileangel said, let that solve the problem.

And I'm totally jealous that you have both Coldplay and White Stripes.

enablers unite! brocktree June 9 2005, 03:42:06 UTC
now i've got two people on my side. not only telling me it's okay, but supplying information. i'm not so huge on movies. i usually get movies used at rental places if i really want them. music just never seems like a waste of money. thanks for the advice. and don't think i've forgotten about returning the 28 days later favour. if you want either coldplay or the stripes, you got it, and i'm still searching for the right discs to use in ah-mee's laptop. i think i have some that work good, except in my outdated machinery. as soon as i can find some burn time, i'll do you a mars volta--brocktree

Gracias! That would be great. I'm the same in that I haven't bought movies in such a long time, but there's always room for music.

I think its a Williams curse. Christmas and birthdays are always agonizing for me cause I never what you have, so I have to take all the time and effort imaginable to try and find something you've never heard of or knew you wanted. Its exhausting.

Sadly I have the same problem. I'm trying to keep a certain amount in my bank at all times, and it just doesn't seem to stick. I had an extra fifteen bucks on me, and instead of doling it out for food over the next few days, I went hungry and bought the Killers. Expect a review soon on my site. Just know you ain't alone, my fine honky friend.
