new low at 18 degrees at 6am last Saturday. We then proceeded to hold our last farmer's market in Anchorage, where it was 24 degrees for over 5 hours. This is silly. YET AWESOME.
today i split what i think amounts to about 2.5-3 chords of wood (one chord= 4'x4'x8' stacked logs). I am a Log Splitting God.

today was the first real day of snow on the mountaintops behind the farm. it's only about 2000 feet difference in elevation, and it's gonna start coming down pretty soon. summer (that long, wet, cold rainy one) is officially over- they call that first snow way up high 'termination dust'- i think that 'termination precipitation' sounds better, but ( Read more... )
