So -- I'm guessing that tubing means something different to you than it does to me ... unless the skiing that you are talking about is water skiing! Down here, tubing involves floating down a river in the baking sun (usually drinking -- sometimes the cooler gets it's own innertube!). Since there is no way that I would do that now, not even here in TX -- & I'm pretty sure that you live somewhere north of me ... The idea of tubing right now gives me the shivers!! lol
without trying to guide your decision in any way, I will just let you know what the laws are for an American coming to Canada. You can stay for 6 months, without any problem, however, without the proper visa - it is illegal to work or attend school for credit. Americans can come across the border as a visitor (but you should have answers planned out before you head up that everybody traveling says the same things) they may ask: why you're visiting, who you're visiting, how long you plan to be there, how much money you have, etc etc. If you ever want to chat about this, or anything, you know my contact info :)
sorry to jump in with the legal crap, but I'm going through Canadian immigration at the moment, and it's pretty on my mind most of the time :)
i need to look somewhere on the internet to find out immigration laws, and to find out how you know if you are a canadian citizen. My mother is a Canadian citizen and the law used to be that if one of your parents is, then you are... If that is so, I may already be a Cannuck :)
Citiczenship and Immigration Canada There should be links from there to the Quebec specific stuff. Some of the immigration laws were just changed last June 28th. As far as the being a citiczen, I know nothing about that :) But it's definately worth looking into.
