SHOW #28// THE BLACKEST NIGHT
[ Wherever you are, whatever you may be doing, the screens around the League are flickering to life, revealing your Director. It's been some time since he made a big announcement, so you better listen closely... ]
Ahem... Things have been... peaceful, lately. The cold is dissipating, giving rise to fresher, warmer air. It is... rather a pity that our Dr. Litchi has been feeling under the weather. A spring fever, perhaps? Whatever her condition, she is quite bedridden, leaving those who need care in the hands of our resident nurse Yoko, or the mad scientist Madaraki Fran.
But it seems fate has cruel irony in store. As Litchi falls victim to illness, up rises a threat which demands her personal expertise. You see, this is no ordinary show you are about to be a part of. Things may have been embarrassing or silly in the past, but no more. The ground quakes. The lights flicker. A sound from below the earth begins, a low moaning echoing in the hollow dirt.
The League is holding a terrible secret. For below these very paths, even beneath your trailer-- the dead are waking. Their cold, skeletal hands are scrabbling for purchase in the empty air as they climb from below. They are many. Their bodies are falling away.
They are hungry.
You will notice a shotgun mounted on your wall which you don't recall ever seeing before. If you need it, and it's likely you will- then keep it close to you at all times. There is a list of rules some follow in a world filled with zombies... Things like, "Don't be a hero."
Can you fight off the invasion? How long will you all survive?
What is real? Will you save yourself... or throw away your life for another? Not everyone will see the end of this week. But if you do... in a week's time, your rewards shall be great.
For the next seven days, your life is the most valuable thing you possess. Hold onto it.
... Oh, and I must thank the generous Leaguers who so kindly returned and neutralized the animals which recently escaped our zoo. I knew I could count on your aid.
