When the door opens Naoto appears the same as ever, wearing her white long sleeved shirt and pants. Yet there is no hat, just messy short hair, and reading glasses on her nose. Also a book tucked under her arm. She blinks, surprised.

"Ah..." There's a delay and then she blushes lightly. "N-No, not at all."

A cute delay is more like it. Kanji looks down, still feeling quite shy about all of this, whether he planned on asking her if today was a good date day or not. Should he say something? If so, what?

He thinks quickly and lifts his head up to nod in her general direction.

"Y-You look nice." He murmurs, cheeks feeling even warmer as yes, he blushes a bit more noticeably now.

His compliment catches her completely off guard. She blinks, looks down at herself, and then just blushes some more.

"O-Oh, um... Th-Thank you." Why would he say that? She looks the same as always.

There's an awkward pause before she finally asks, "D-Did you need something?"

Exactly. See, what Naoto did not yet know was that Kanji adored and crushed on her for everything that simply made her...well, her. Perhaps if he ever got the courage to say it, or she got curious enough to ask, she would then know, and then in turn, understand.

"Um, uh..y-yeah! I thought maybe we could, y-you know, go on our date?"
