Carnivale?

I added the 'Carnivale' series to my ScreenSelect DVD requests a while ago.

Who recommended it to me, and is it good? :)

Yeah, it's good. I think it will play better on DVD than it did on TV. I took issue with how it tried to be mysterious for mystery's sake but that's a lot less a factor when you don't have to wait a week or more between episodes.

Don't expect any grand finale. Season 2 wrapped in the states & HBO cancelled the series.

Oh good, I'm glad I'm getting into another Firefly Wonderfalls Sports Night cancelled show.

I love cliffhangers, but hate cliffhangers, so DVD will be nice.

It *does* work well on DVD. It's a very patient narrative, and not what I'm used to (compared to Buffy or Alias). It does remind me of the pacing of Twin Peaks.

Patient is a good word to describe it. Sometimes it tried my patience though. How far have you gotten in the series?

The two shows I'm looking forward to most are "Lost" and "Veronica Mars" - both of which have had good word of mouth from my friends.

Lost is fucking marvellous. One of *the* best tv shows ever.

Veronica Mars is also on my list. :)

Veronica Mars is wonderfully addictive. and I'm not just biased because I'm in lust with Logan.

Carnivale is good, and I would recommend it, but for some reason it just can't hold my attention. I start watching it and my mind drifts after about twenty minutes. of course, that could just be a testament to my MTV-soundbite-soiled attention span.

I'll make sure to have a cuppa beforehand.

I have a flatmate who - without fail - falls asleep during MST3K shows. Bless.
