Standing at the window of his childhood home, looking out across the familiar, charmless vista, Jack feels like he's being squeezed into a hole that's far too small to take his frame.
It's a desolate spot - he’d always known it - but his folks had long ago accepted it as the only place they could ever hope to be.
Jack had always dreamed there was something else. Something more than this.
He’d always known there was a place, somewhere, that would feel like home. A place that housed a love so deep that it would lodge itself in his heart forever, never again to leave.
He'd always imagined that one day he'd know a yearning so strong he'd feel its presence in every part of his being, and that, some day, he’d find a secret world all of his own, the like of which his folks’d never know, or even come close to knowing.
And now Jack knows for sure it all exists. He knows he's found that world he always knew was there, somewhere around the corner, if only he could reach it.
He found it all one cold, sweet night up on Brokeback Mountain.
