Pullings has been back home to his beloved HMS Surprise and his dearly loved Captain Aubrey for the better part of a week. True to Bond's word, he simply found himself back where he should be without any preamble from Nexus Powers That Be (should there be any such body of governance). Fortunately, he hadn't needed to come up with an excuse for his absence. Unfortunately, he did have to explain just how he had managed to lose his footing on the quarterdeck. Embarrassing.
This time, however, it seems that the Nexus is willing to let the officer keep his dignity. Maybe it's because Pullings has intentionally found himself back in the puzzling place or maybe someone just has a twisted sense of humor. Who knows? Anyhow, here he be and there stands Stigmata, relatively where he recalls it being. The sea, he doesn't happen to locate. Bloody waters, never keeping put.
