Okay, so I gave in and watched the first episode of True Blood. For the record, I'm not at all into the whole vampire fad. Buffy was THE SHIT, don't get me wrong, but I think Twilight totally ruined it for me...overbearing, male characters and the helpless little girl of a protagonist who simply couldn't do anything without the permission of her

First off, let me say I am not a vampire fanatic. Yes, i read the twilight books, but more so out of horror and entertainment rather than for literary enlightenment.

I've also read the entire sookie stackhouse/true blood series. For enjoyment and because they are awesome. I am currently rewatching season one of True Blood because I'm so amped up to rewatch season two. There are some hokey episodes and Anna Paquin can annoy the fuck out of you time to time, but she stops being the damsel (no spoiler here, I think you see a lot of it in her, though don't expect buffy).

I love how the show/movie integrated vampires into everyday life, and what better than to set it in the deep south? I love made vampire blood into a drug, and Layfayette is one of the best characters on the show. I also love how the show stops being so much about Sookie, but the town on Bon Temps really becomes a character in an of itself. I think I am a fangirl. Shit.
