Is there an implied trade-off between quantitative and qualitative pleasure? Does the reasoning extend to say that if you have a large amount of simple pleasures it precludes you experiencing the higher, more elaborate pleasures?

Nonetheless, I would still come down on the side of a qualitative approach, for the simple fact that you can have too much of a good thing. If you experience a simple pleasure too often it ceases to be pleasurable. An elaborate pleasure, infrequently experienced would provide both a more intense experience, as you would be comparing it with a lack of any pleasure, as well as enabling you to still experience the simpler pleasures in the meantime.

On the other hand, pigs have hour-long orgasms. True fact.

i offen ask the question wen pleasure stays, dose it stay a pleasure the answer is generaly no. due to the adventurous human disposition we rebel against the every day for if we didnt we wouldnt require holidays . i suppose we rebell against the simple and strive for the exotic . with each new exotic pleasure a bench mark to beat on the next adventure .....i wonder what an hour long pig, gasum sounds like
