GOOD CHARLOTTE/Relient K CONCERT

May 16, 2005 13:32

This weekend was great! I had so much fun on Friday and Saturday. Today was uneventful but that's alright. No biggie. Let's see... where to start? Ahh yes... Friday morning. Read on!

Friday started off with me getting up early to go to graduation rehearsal. I picked up Cathy and we were on our way, all the while jamming to BSB and MCR, what a combo eh? So we get to St. John Newman in Canton and we rehearsed for the Graduation ceremony for 2 and half hours. It seemed nearly ridiculous to be there because there really wasn't anything to rehearse other than standing up and sitting down and processing in and out. Any monkey with a half of a brain could do that. So after that, Cathy and I left and went to McDonald's. It started to softly rain which was a bummer because I thought the concert that night was totally going to suck, especially since we had lawn seats. So we get some Mickey D's and then decide to go for a drive way out in the No Man's Land of Salem Township and South Lyon. That was fun. Then is started POURING DOWN RAIN. I mean it was raining so hard that I could barely hear the radio over the banging of the rain on my windshield. I took Cathy home and then headed back home. I decided to take a nap and I ended up sleeping for an hour and a half. I got up and got into the shower and began getting ready. Around 10 to 5, Sam showed up with her mom as I was finishing my make-up. (Black eye shadow and red lipstick baby =P). Shortly after, Cristina showed up. I was wearing my Edward Scissorhands shirt and blue jeans. I grabbed my CMU sweatshirt and we all left. We took Sam's mom back to her house and then the three of us were on our way!

The ride there was definately eventful with me explaining what I saw on Conan O'Brien a few nights ago (Sorry you have to see it to understand!) and seeing this guy who was driving and air drumming at the same time. All the way there we listened to GC's first album and some of GC's second album. I felt like such an ass because I only heard of them after The Young and the Hopeless. Oh well it's all good. We got to the concert and it was cold out so we all put our sweatshirts on. Then they told us we weren't allowed to have lawn chairs, which wasn't a big deal for Sam and I but because Cristina had knee surgery not too long ago, she is physically unable to stand for long periods of time. We just went in and the people told us to go see the Handicap services. Well before we did that, we got in line to get some GC merchandise. I should probably mention at this time that Simple Plan was not with them for this concert, but instead it was Relient K. So anyways it started to slowly rain as we're standing in line. Then we got our stuff. I got a black zip up hoodie that The Chronicles of Life and Death emblem on the front and around it is says Good Charlotte a bunch of times. Sam got a different black zip up hoodie and Cristina, who already had a GC black zip up hoodie, got a GC shirt, Relient K shirt and the Relient K CD. Sam and I put on our hoodies over our other hoodies to keep warm. Then we went to talk to Handicap Services and Cristina explained to them that she couldn't stand for the whole concert. The guy was like "Alright, I'll tell you what I do. Give your wrists and tickets, I'll give you wristbands and mark ZZ on your tickets and you can sit where you want in the last row of the pavillion. THAT WAS UBER SWEET! So excitedly we walked up to the Left-Center and we explained our situation to the guys and we sat in our seats. Then it started pouring down rain and since rows XX, YY, and ZZ aren't covered by the pavillion we got drenched. Seriously teh only thing not wet was our butts. Hahahaha! Then is started to stop and then immediately started up again, then finally stopped. We were sitting there drenched as we waited for Relient K to come on. We kept seeing this guy who looked EXACTLY LIKE Joel walking around. I wanted to stop him and get a picture with him but Sam said she'd kill if I did. *sigh* Oh well...

Finally Relient K came on and they played some songs. The drummer was kinda cute, I just liked the way he played with such energy. He took his shirt off and had a weird looking body LOL But that's alright. The bassist was hot. Again I felt like such an ass because I didn't know any of Relient K's songs and Sam and Cristina were singing. We sat for that entire performance, only bobbing our heads and tapping our feet. Relient K was alright, a lot better than i thought they'd be. It was funny because the lead singer kept saying "I bet you are all waiting for Good Charlotte" and I was like "HELL YEA BUDDY!!!" Then they finished and I remember freaking out because it was getting closer to GC's time on stage. Cristina left to go to the bathroom and then they started getting ready for Good Charlotte. Sam and I jumped out of our seats as Cristina came hurrying back. LOL poor thing had to pee so bad and she still held it because Good Charlotte was about to come on. Then the first song on Chronicles came on and we're all freaking out. The black curtain dropped, revealing the graveyard scene and then they came out. I saw Billy and FREAKED. He was dressed up like Beetlejuice and he was just GORGEOUS!!!!!! They came out singing the Anthem. We were all standing throughout the whole concert. I don't think I've ever jumped that high or that much in my life ever. They put on such a great performance. There was a part were Benji told us that he had a feeling he'd fall in love and marry a Michigan girl. Of course all the girls erupted in screams. Hahaha, even teh preteens there with their parents. Joel also said that we were one of the best crowds ever and that he'd never seen so many GC shirts in his life. I think my favorite song of the night was definately Hold On. That song means so much to me and it took everything in my to not cry while they sang it. It was just such an amazing concert. Definately the best one I've ever been too... I was so happy that they showed Billy a lot on the big screen. There was one part where they got his butt on the screen and I died LOL. I'm such a girl...

After the concert ended, I wanted to find a way to meet them but Cristina and Sam were like "They'd probably arrest us" "We wouldn't get in" and stuff like that. They were right, except for the arresting part... at least they wouldn't get arrested. Can't guarantee I wouldn't be arrest thought ;D I'm willing to do a lot to meet my favorite bands. I mean hello, remember I had my mom take me 7 1/2 hours into Canada to see a 15 minute performance of the Moffatts on the Holiday Train? Yea... I'm that insane! Oh well, next time they come to Michigan... I'm for sure going and I'm buying tickets the first day they come out to make sure I get good seats and I WILL do whatever I can to meet them.

The whole ride home, which took longer than the ride there because of all the god damned construction, I did not shut up about Billy. I bet Sam and Cristina were going to kill me. Hahahaha oh well. He's worth it! Not dying over i mean talking about! I'm not that crazy!! We came back to my house after grabbing some McDonald's for dinner and we sat in my family room talking to Jeff about the concert. I showed Jeff a picture of Billy (whom I said was my future husband LOL yea right a girl wishes she was that lucky). Jeff was just like "...okay then..." Hahahaha My mom had the same reaction the next day when I showed her. After quoting Napolean Dynamite, Jeff went to bed and I downloaded GC music videos and a certain song that i kept haunting Sam with LOL. That was fucking hilarious. I <3 you Sammy!! Then we all crashed. Cristina and Sam left early the next morning and I went back to sleep hahaha.

I had so much fun on Friday night! I haven't had that much fun in a long time and I wish I could relive it each day of my life, the fun part of it.

Well I think that's long enough, so I'll end it here with some pictures of my future husband LMAO!

He's such a pimp LOL

Alrighty, I think that's enough =D

Much Love,
Melissa
