Wow, didn't even vote. Congratulations. You've wasted your responsibility as an American citizen and have made absolutely no difference whatsoever. Good for you.

If I had voted I would have voted for Bush. That being said, I did actually plan on voting, but I missed the registration date. I even went looking for those people hanging out around the supermarkets who register voters ( ... )

I actually agree with you. Having a "vote" and believeing it will "count" is the kind of high school senior government bullshit that only complacent sheep and civics teachers truly believe in anymore. Hell, even the Framers of the Constitution were holding back their guffaws at the electorate when they offered the vote: the electoral college was designed to prevent the ignorant population of the country from ever REALLY truly selecting their leader.

But hey, as long as the government gives you a vote, you are all the more willing to pay taxes, go to war, look the other way, etc etc...

...not a bad trade, if you think about it. I wish my landlord as a gullible.

Tell that crap to someone I work with who is a resident of Ohio. She couldn't get an absentee ballot because their fucking Republican governor passed a referendum that no registered democrats can get absentee ballots. As a result she had to register and vote in Massachusetts instead. Think of all the other registered democrats from Ohio who ran into the same problem. From what I've seen, if that referendum hadn't passed, Kerry could have gotten enough democratic votes to win Ohio, and maybe the results of this election would have been different. So don't you even tell me that votes don't count ( ... )
