Wednesday, on which I did not mend the fence

Oct 04, 2006 23:37

Today I got woken up early by a bored cat boxing my nose, but failed to capitalise by getting up similarly early; but listened to Liza on the radio and made it down to Albany Rd and got all but one of the items on my shopping list, and made it back home in time to have a shower before heading into town to meet bloodflowerbill; but before I left the house and ( Read more... )

Aw honeybunch! This was a not a good entry to read. Rule #1 on the WWW, I've learned, is that you should avoid at all costs reading anything that will upset you remotely. It's an art form I've mastered.

I hope today is better for you.

Unfortunately, it's an art form I've spent several years utterly failing to get the hang of! If it's there for the looking, I can't help but look. If there's a box to open, just call me Pandora! I don't know whether it's voyeurism or masochism, plain old foolishness, or just tied up w/ my general anxiety to be possessed as fully as I can be w/ as much info as I can get about a given thing... Gah. Can I get any tips from the master? ;-)

Thanks dear xxx

Oh, I hope there was some useful stuff in amongst all the rambling. Sorry for going so overboard with all that - I hate my going-on-and-on-ness, and cringed at how much I was whittering even as I was doing it - but given how generally rubbish I am w/ writing e-mails (esp. lately) it seemed like it was better to let my too-much-information taps overflow and get the mail finished and sent, than to try to edit and trim and sensify, and end up w/ yet another never-to-be-sent mail in my Drafts folder.

Ach, there've been many days more rub of late (many rubber days of late?!). Thanks for being nice :-) My face is all crying-swollen and blotchy in the sunglasses picture, but what w/ the quality of phonecam pictures I guess that such things maybe aren't quite so noticeable. Phew! xxx

Oh, I hope you get to see it - I was really glad I did. I don't want to sound like a tabloid film reviewer, but it really DID make me laugh, make me cry, make me wince with recognition, and cringe in sympathy with whatever characters deserved my sympathy at the time. I really hadn't heard all that much about it before I saw it (beyond an interview w/ Alan Arkin, who I hadn't actually heard of before, and which didn't focus too specifically on this film), which I suppose helped to make it all that more refreshing.

Thank you, you lovely thing, you. I'm sure you've many more important and pressing things which should be occupying your thoughts, but it's an honour (and a joy) to be among them. E-mails, crap or otherwise, are always welcomed by me!! I just wish I actually got so far as writing down all the e-mails, letters, &c. I compose in my head, let alone sending 'em - if I did, yr inbox would be fair clogged up w/ inanities from me!
