Have just noticed two tears to the jeans I was wearing yesterday, evidently results of my fence-clambering antics, as the placement of the one I noticed first, on the fabric covering my left thigh, exactly corresponds with the large lumpy bruise below it. More to add to the mending pile: I've never felt inclined to rock the ripped jeans look. But

[ bugger. i'd have made a crap tomboy, too. it's okay. we can sit and mend together. except your sewing skills *far* outstrip mine, so maybe i'll just sit and hold the things you need to mend, rather than causing them to require further mending ;) ]
