The boiler's on the blink, so it's Polly put the kettle on to fill up hot water bottles, in lieu of central heating, Polly put the kettle on when there's washing up to be done, and Polly put two kettles and every saucepan in the house on the hob full of water to boil if she's to have any hope of having a bath. Brr... it's not the weather for the boiler to be broken! Hope it gets fixed soon, and if not, wrap thee and thy kitten up in lots of blankets...

It certainly isn't! Luckily Branwell has his winter coat on, and is superfurry at the momentl I've been swathing myself in scarves and things, and draping a rug over my lap when I sit down. It's oh so tempting just to clamber into bed under the duvet, but once there it's oh so easy just to fall asleeeeeeep...

I e-mailed the landlady this morning in any case, so hopefully things'll start to warm up again soon :-)

It's a faff, alright. Fortunately the Goth still appears to be at her parents' place for the moment, or there'd be two of us having to faff around for hours just to have a proper wash, and twice the levels of condensation in the kitchen from all the kettle and sospan boiling! I do hope our good lady landlord checks her e-mail soon, else I'll have to (ulp) phone up to make sure some boiler mendy people are despatched in my direction some time soon...

At times they approach The Day Today levels of surrealness! But, more seriously, I'm sure there must have been more important news in South Wales that day...

Very annoying. I'm sure it's character building, or something. But in the meantime, it's a long way from fun and convenient! xxx
