Woke up to find the back door wide open, and to the slow realisation that I've been robbed.

I guess that shows me to remember to lock the back door after I've shut it.

Missing:

- one lilac leather handbag (keys, purse w/ cards and smallish amount of cash, all the usual lipbalmy hairclippy handbag non-valuable essentials

Oh you poor, poor thing. Many hugs to you, and I hope the wee kitten comes back soon too. I'm sure she will, she's just exploring the world.

To cheer you up, a reading suggestion: Varjak Paw. It's a fantastic children's book about a cat that learns something between a martial art, and inner peace. It won a Smarties children's book award, and has lovely pictures, so I think you should seek it out from your local library, curl up with a cat on your lap and a mug of something warm, and enjoy, once this nastiness is over.

Ruby Tuesday twice went missing for 5 days both times at two different addresses. Not saying this to freak you out that it might take 5 days to see Miss Edna again, but to reassure you that all is still not lost even if she doesn't come back by morning. Cats are incredibly adept at leaving a scent trace from the very first step out the door - they rub their cheeks against posts and jambs, tree trunks and gates. It's their instinct to do so, so please don't worry that she won't 'cos she's never been out before. She will.

I, too, am really glad you're posting again. I'd hate to think of you suffering even more alone-ly than you are probably feeling right now. :(

Are there any pet-tracker/location services in your area that you might be able to access online? I noticed she had a collar with ID on in the photo yesterday. That's a good thing! :)
