insomnia; desert rats; large pine-scented scratching post.

Hrrrmm, it seems I'm not fated to sleep tonight, even though I actually went out and DID stuff for a change, rather than just sitting inside and thinking about all the stuff I needed to do, and not getting around to doing any of it. Maybe that's the problem, then? Maybe I've been overstimulated by having a semi-active day? In any case, I went to ( Read more... )

I thought that was a bilby at first glance, then I thought some desert rat/mouse of Australian nationality, but no! We don't, in fact, corner the market on cute little marsupial-looking things. Its tail looks like a limp old paintbrush, awww! Very cute.

I'm trying hard to stay within the normal awake/asleep patterns myself. Not easy for a natural-born night owl like m'self. Good luck to you re sticking to the same routine.

Crikey, yeah, it hadn't occurred to me how marsupial the jerboa looks! I'll blame that on the lack of sleep, cos it's really pretty striking now that, um, someone else has struck me with it... My brain needs jump starting, or something.

I've been pretty bad recently. I did (theoretically) the worst possible thing (in terms of helping myself to wind down) last night/this morning, and came online, where I had a nice conversation with en_god_tanke, so at least my time was mostly pleasantly occupied! I felt so full of adrenaline, though, despite having yawned and yawned my way through Sunday... Hey ho.

Right, must go and give a hedgehog feeding dish a thorough wash - I went to refill it with dried meal worms just now, but found that, once emptied of crunchy munchy larvae, it had been used as a chamberpot...

Awww, sorry I beat you to it! But they are excellent little critters indeed. There should be an intriguing animal story in the news every day to cheer me up - sod the And finally plucky-terrier-saving-its-elderly-owner-from-house-fire stories at the end of the bulletin, I want daily doses of previously undiscovered varieties of mongoose and Arctic squirrel!!

Aaaaand funnily enough, I had an e-mail this evening from my Dad, telling me I had to click on this link to a Guardian news page to see a "truly awesomely cute animal, it's like a cross between Dumbo, a kangaroo and a mouse." Hmmm, wonder what that could be :-)

wait- you were burgled again? Or do you mean after your last attempt to write every day was back then? Sorry, I've been doing a mail merge brainsucky thing!

Hmm, maybe you can have a fun little project like 'a baby animal picture a day' or 'a link a day' to get you in the habit? Something that will be a bit silly and fun? *sending gadget hugs*

Totally understand about the not wanting to plan / organise Other Things other than haushunting btw - no pressure on any visits! Just being a greedy such and such who wants MOAR CERI TIME! :)

Oooh, can we see the tree when it's dressed? And I'm sure Bran & Edna will be utterly in its awe...:)
