You probably didn't do anything. He's in a rough spot right now (at least that's what it sounds like). It's not you and he shouldn't take it out on you. He does though because it sounds like he feels safe with ya

i think he's feeling insecure and depressed right now. he's probably going through the stage where he's confused about a lot of things and he wants you to give him the security of knowing that you love him. i hope that helps a little.
